Becoming Jane A Complete 19th Century Regency Costume for Under $10
I have been teasing you long enough. Today, I am finally revealing Becoming Jane A Complete 19th Century Regency Costume for Under $10.
As you can see the upcycled embroidered tablecloth made the perfect skirt overlay.
You really notice the scallop edging in a side view.
It also created the perfect train.
Here is a close-up of the lovely detail and embroidery.
Recycled lace from antique pillowcase edging accents the bottom of the narrow underskirt and sleeves.
The ladies mid length cotton gloves were once worn by my mother, Karen, in the 1960’s.
The simple black ballet flats I often wear were also appropriate for this era.
All in all this ensemble made for a lovely and comfortable promenade in the park. I received several waves and smiles.
You can view all the details on the dress HERE.
A DIY for the reticule (purse) is HERE.
The tutorial for the bonnet can be found HERE.
I do hope you have enjoyed this year’s costume series. Special thanks to the Fashionista for taking the photos. Please let me know if there is an era you would like to see showcased in the future.
Off to find my Mr. Darcy.
