Early Fall Home Tour 2016

Welcome to Storybook Cottage!

I am so happy to be participating in the weeklong Fall Home Tours hosted by my dear friend Marty from A Stroll Thru Life. If you are stopping by after visiting Barbara’s gorgeous home at 21 Rosemary Lane  I want to say that I am so glad that you are here.

It is still quite warm in my neck of the woods so I’ve opted for cool colors and light neutrals for this early fall tour.

Fall Home Tour 2016 094-001

In the entryway I have gathered a few fall favorites.

Fall Home Tour 2016 186

Thrift store silver and a vintage container are paired with painted pumpkins.

SQUIRREL!

Fall Home Tour 2016 189

Rustic elegance.

Fall Home Tour 2016 196

The soft shades continue in the living room.

Fall Home Tour 2016 094

In late June I found this art canvas on deep clearance as paint had rubbed off in several areas. I just touched it up and it looks as good as new hung above the mantel.

Fall Home Tour 2016 099

Autumnal goodness: velvet pumpkins and tarnished gold acorns.

Fall Home Tour 2016 096

The layout of the living room has not changed since last years tour.

SQUIRREL!

Fall Home Tour 2016 113

But I’ve added a few new accessories here and there.

Fall Home Tour 2016 123-001

Fall Home Tour 2016 168

Fall Home Tour 2016 115

The kitchen received touches of blue and hints of warm yellow.

Fall Home Tour 2016 141

Happiness is: copper colored bricks and vintage towels with pom~pom trim.

Fall Home Tour 2016 071

A French confit pot corrals cookware.

Fall Home Tour 2016 173

I see no reason why confit pots can’t be paired with Polish pottery.

Fall Home Tour 2016 096

The yellow also works well with the new tablecloth and napkins I recently made.

Fall Home Tour 2016 103

Pinwheel pizazz.

Fall Home Tour 2016 135

The fabric came from KariAnne of Thistlewood Farms. It was a gorgeous prize that I received for winning the recent Sweet Tea Challenge.

Fall Home Tour 2016 194

I hope you have enjoyed the early fall tour of Storybook Cottage.

I enjoyed your fall tour, Laura. So much to see and enjoy! I am impressed with your sewing!! Your patchwork napkins and pinwheel centerpiece would take me forever to finish. You love it and thrive in this area.
The tier tray party sounds like fun. I hope I can participate but will enjoy viewing if I can't get one together.

I always love seeing how you switch things up for each season. Your vignettes are so pretty and the entry looks fabulous, those squirrels, so fun. Great tour and I can't wait to see more.

beautiful. love the pottery, and the way you added blue a not typically traditional fall color.

This was a great post for me. As a recent transplant from the Midwest to a warmer coastal climate, I am learning how to incorporate the seasons in a more subtle way in our home. My new color palette, blue and white, is also different for me. Different, but also exciting in that it opens me up to new options and combinations that weren't in my wheel house until now. Thank you for planting the seeds of fall with blues and softer shades.

What a beautiful home you have Laura. I love that soft shade of aqua you have chosen. It goes so well with fall colours. I especially like your welcoming display in your front entrance.

I came by initially to see your tiered tray, but was happy to have a peek at your home too ;)

Laura,
What a refreshing look for Fall.... blues. Your first photo of the topiary with the pears and leaves called my name immediately. The Sweet Tea quilt top is perfect as a tablecloth for your Fall colors.

Thanks for linking up to our first Monday Social. This post will be a great one to link up next week.

Beautiful tour, Laura! You have captured the softer side of Fall beautifully! Love that Polish pottery, I have never seen any without some red in it and that is why I shied away. Love your confit pot too. GORGEOUS pastel topiaries, did you make them? Happy early Fall!!!!
