Inspiration for a Perfectly Easy Summer Party

During the summer you don’t need a reason to celebrate. Just celebrate summer itself!

Take advantage of the good weather. String up some fairy lights and invite the neighbors over for potluck.

Or simply just star gaze.

Let's have a bonfire at the beach and gaze up at the stars as if the night is never going to end:

Come One and All

The fact is summer should be a relaxing time of hotdogs on the grill and a dip in the pool. Summer parties don’t need a lot of planning or fuss. For an easy invitation just grab a fun image, add the date and time, and send it via email.

Love this era.

Play your favorite summer themed movies.
Beach Party, 1963: Annette became a teen idol in the 60s, starring in a series of beach party movies with Frankie Avalon beginning with Beach Party in 1963. Others included Muscle Beach Party, Bikini Beach, Pajama Party, Beach Blanket Bingo, and How to Stuff a Wild Bikini.:
A Summer Place - 1959 film that crossed into the early 60s and reflected the changes teen girls were exploring in that era. The girl tries to resist her boyfriend, but as you can see from the poster she has a lot of pressure to have sex.:
NATIONAL LAMPOON'S VACATION... LOVE all of them but Christmas Vacation is my family's fave :):
The Perfect Summer Party of course needs a perfect playlist.

Laura, this is a fabulous post! I'm overheated and feeling very negative about summer these days, so I need to look at this post every day to get a new attitude! :D

Such an excellent post, Laura! I rarely spend time on Pinterest these days, but all these images make me want to go back there and just all the music, even the oldies from the 50s and 60s. I grew up with 8 siblings all older than me, so I'm familiar with all those tunes. :)
