I’ve been busy transforming free and thrift store art to create a nautical themed gallery wall in my hallway. It’s coming along pretty well and I am in the home stretch. Do you want to see how dated they looked before? Keep reading! Over two years ago I had hit the thrift store jackpot when I came upon an entire cache of vintage French and Italian metal frames for mere pennies. I used a few of the frames on my entry way gallery wall. As well as creating a bit of lampshade ... View the Post

Creating 3 D Seashell Art
I am in the process of creating a gallery wall that will brighten up my very dark hallway. My budget for Creating 3 D Seashell Art is around $10. Creating 3 D Seashell Art I purchased two value packs of 5” x 7” canvases at Michael’s. Using a coupon the canvases were just $1.62 each. ($6.48 for all four.) I had several bottles of acrylic paint leftover from previous projects and picked out various seaside colors to paint each canvas. The secret to painting, whether it be acrylic, ... View the Post
Delicious Greek Pasta Salad

My Pinterest Easter Fails
As you may know, my kids are older. They aren’t interested in hand-woven Easter baskets containing homemade bubbles, DIY jump ropes, and handcrafted sidewalk chalk. Rather than just sticking the cash inside plastic eggs this year I decided to try my hand at creating origami springtime creatures out of dollar bills. I checked out Pinterest and found all sorts of inspiration and links. Here is My Pinterest Easter Fails. This is supposed to be ... View the Post
Perfect for a Spring Brunch~ Julia’s Quiche Aux Oignons
As my children are now older I have found myself transitioning from egg hunts to really focusing on Easter itself. In this way we celebrate not just one day, but the entire Holy week. On Palm Sunday I went and got sprinkle donuts in spring colors. I never do this and my kids were thrilled. This morning I arose early to make Julia Child’s Quiche Aux Oignons (Onion Quiche). I used leeks which I love dearly and they feel like spring to me. You can find Julia’s original recipe HERE. I made ... View the Post
No More Towels On The Bathroom Floor!
Perhaps like many of you my guest bathroom also doubles as my 12 year old son’s bathroom. It’s a situation that strikes fear in the hearts of mothers everywhere. One of the reasons why is that a large percentage of boys are physically unable to hang their bathroom towels up on a towel bar, my son included. Let me just say that his towels were never draped beautifully over the tub as shown in the image below. They were more likely to end up in a soggy pile on the floor. Keep reading to see ...
