…Who dream, inspire, encourage and persevere.
Do you know such a woman?
I find these qualities and many more present in the truly amazing women that I encounter on a daily basis in blogland.
Many times I have talked about the blessing of blogging friends who became real friends.
Friends who have helped me achieve dreams, inspired me, encouraged me and help me to persevere.
I was blessed to recently celebrate another birthday. On the day I took some time to reflect on my life so far and the hopes and dreams I have for myself (and of course, my family) in the future. I asked the hard questions of “Who do I REALLY want to be?” and “What do I need to do to get there?”
The answer came in the the form of the amazing women I know who:
If you have been reading my blog for any length of time you know that I am a wife, mom, interior designer, writer, chauffeur, master chef & bottle washer; and a few years ago I decided to go back to school to get an advanced degree. Each title is a glorious piece that is helping me to work out the amazing puzzle I want to be. But yes, I am stretched thin. I have been for a few years now. I have come to realize that I can’t be the best person I want to be if I don’t take care of myself. So, I started with the basics. I got yearly exams I was way behind on. I began eating healthier. I’m still trying to cram a bit of exercise into my busy schedule. I’ll get there!
Yet I still felt…..blah and frumpy.
A haircut helped. A little. Then I began addressing my wardrobe.
The stained and torn clothing was discarded. I tried on blouse after remaining blouse and just felt…..not good about myself. As I began packing for my upcoming move I began sorting through my dresser. I think 98% of my undergarments featured stretched out elastic and bras that caused back fat. You can’t top that with ANYTHING and feel good about yourself.
So here’s either TMI or your laugh for the day. I googled “Bras that eliminate back fat”
I was tired of feeling bad about myself. I mean I was beating myself up over back fat.
No more negatives, only positives!
Just typing those words kind of brought back the feeling of being a mortified 12 year old, first time bra shopping with my grandmother. It was she who informed me that “Vanity Fair® makes the best undergarments.” You remember Vanity Fair® right? For 100 years, Vanity Fair® lingerie has been the brand that women look to for undeniable support, lift and a little bit of luxury.
Vanity Fair® still offers feminine and beautiful lingerie that features great fabric in lovely colors and prints. I was searching for a bra with clean lines to create a smooth look under my clothes. I found it in this bra: the Vanity Fair Beauty Back ™ Back Smoother Bra.
So I went shopping. (Vanity Fair® is sold at such retailers as J.C. Penney, Belk and Kohls. They also have an online store HERE. ) While it may be a pretty little secret that French women have known for years, it’s taken me awhile to learn that the right foundation garment can totally make a difference on how you feel and see yourself.
Vanity Fair® has recently began a campaign, Women Who Do. The campaign is dedicated to praising and celebrating the everyday triumphs of women everywhere while highlighting the brand’s long-standing commitment to producing quality, luxurious lingerie at an affordable price-point. Ultimately, Vanity Fair® hopes to spark a movement that inspires women to support each other and live their lives according to what makes them happy.
Vanity Fair® is also partnering with Dress for Success® – an organization dedicated to promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, career development tools and a network of support. Vanity Fair® offered to lend its expertise, resources and extensive product offering to help replenish the lingerie of the non-profit organization. Through this partnership, Vanity Fair® hopes to provide women with the support they need to be successful.
Vanity Fair® and Dress for Success kicked off a nationwide bus tour with a focus on fit and philanthropy. The LiftTOUR will travel across the country conducting bra fittings at major retail locations, and for every woman fit, Vanity Fair® will donate a brand-new bra to the local Dress for Success Affiliate. Between July and the end of October, the LiftTOUR will plan to stop at 70 different locations in 12 major U.S. markets.
