Over a week ago I shared with you my personal challenge to travel for almost 2 weeks with just a carry on. (You can see the pieces I included as well as my accessories HERE.) Guess what? I did it! Day one had me traveling across the country with just my carry on and a basket that acted as my “purse” containing my wallet, plane tickets, magazines, a book, healthy snacks and my beloved Canon camera. I wore a sweater as I always get cold on planes, a striped blouse, navy capri’s, as well as ... View the Post

Fit Friday: An Easy & Yummy Greek Appetizer ~ Tzatziki
As I mentioned on Wednesday we recently hosted a Bon Voyage themed dinner party at our home. A big hit was the tzatziki (pronounced za-zeek-ee). I learned how to make this from an elderly Greek woman named Fruly who was my Greek language instructor while living on the Greek island of Crete. You will need: 1 cup of good plain Greek yogurt (I prefer Trader Joe’s). 1 peeled and grated cucumber The juice of one lemon (you can add more or less to taste if you like). 2 large cloves of garlic ... A Bon Voyage Themed Party
Last Sunday I was on the phone with my good friend Jackie and inquired about when she was expecting the movers. “On Monday” she replied. “What!” I practically shouted. “I know. It’s come up too quickly.” She said. It was time for A Bon Voyage Themed Party. A Bon Voyage Themed Party I quickly looked around my house and saw some spaces that were still in a disheveled state from my recent trip to California. I thought of Erma Bombeck and her “If I Had My Life To Live Over” poem which includes ... View the Post
How To Pack For A 2 Week Vacation Using Only a Carryon and Still Look Cute
I have always been envious of those who had the ability to pack just 5 items of clothing and look cute 800 different ways. My stylish friend Reachel enlightened me with the following formula: Pack just one item of clothing for each day that you are gone. WHAT! This was so counterintuitive to what I have done in the past. I was an “outfit for everyday of the trip” type of gal. The secret is to devise a wardrobe that can be mixed and matched. You can do this one of two ways. The first is ... View the Post
Remnants of the Past
The Fashionista and I drove from Phoenix to Laguna Beach late Thursday night. We encountered unbelievable traffic and detours. Up early Friday morning to pack up the truck we drove another 5 hours to San Luis Obispo. I was a bit of a nervous wreck hauling such a precious load for such a great distance. We were headed to the Remnants of the Past show. Remnants of the Past Upon arriving I was filled with giddiness brought on by the creative beauty of the outdoor booths. This lovely gem ... The San Luis Obispo de Tolosa Mission
I’m in San Luis Obispo this weekend. It’s been quite a few years since I toured the San Luis Obispo mission which was founded by Father Junipero Serra in 1772. The church has an unusual “L” shaped design featuring a short and narrow nave as well as a secondary nave almost the same size on the right side of the altar. The layout of the belfry and vestibule can be found nowhere else among all the other California missions. It is truly a special place. “if I delay, you may know how one ... View the Post
