New Lighting In The Bathroom As Done By A Veteran

Happy Veteran’s Day!

I am breathing a big sigh of joyous relief and happiness at a project recently completed by my favorite veteran.

This monstrosity was the horrible “before”. Why haven’t they outlawed this light fixture yet?

Now you know I love a good deal so I hit the thrift stores first. This used light fixture had several scratches and they wanted $50.

This brand new light fixture was $41.99 and I received a 10% military discount. So new it was!

What an improvement!

Take a gander of this side shot of the beautiful chrome details.

Like most of our home DIY projects it wasn’t an easy install. I’ll share the hijinks on Wednesday.

Tomorrow’s post will reveal the winners of the numerous giveaways posted last week. Today is the last day to enter. There are still a few freebies left in my Etsy Shoppe too. Take ‘em all if you’d like. I need to make room for some exciting new treasures.

As always I thank the millions of men and women who sacrificed their time, families, jobs and much more to provide me with the freedom I so dearly love.

I thank retired Master Sergeant Eric C. Gunn for so very much more.

Happy Veteran’s Day!

I have those same light fixtures in both our bathrooms, Laura. They were here when we moved in and since they provide enough lighting we've left them. Somewhere down the road I'd like to switch them out for something nicer. I like the fixture you got to replace yours.

Salute, Sgt. Gunn! And thank you!

Like you and at least one other reader, I have those same light fixtures in my bath. I really like the light they give, so I'm hesitant to switch out. Let us know how the new fixture compares (which is really nice, and what a bargain!).

What a sweet post! Thanks to your Hubby from us. I posted about my favorite vets, too. There are far too many from which to choose, but I whittled it down to three.

Oh, and love the fixture!

A well deserved salute to Sgt. Gunn and please relay my heartfelt thanks for all of his service!! I love your new light fixture! Don't tell anyone but I still have one just like the old one somewhere in my house!! Maybe one day I'll get around to updating it too!

Funny, that was one of the things that HAD to go when we moved into our new house. We ousted your fixtures twin and replaced with something similar to your new one....
Just changed my hall fixture a week or so ago. The old fixtures were so ugly even my husband noticed. Splurged for the front hall, compromised for the upstairs hall where I need two fixtures.
Light fixtures can be challenging. You really don’t know if they will give you the right lighting for their intended location and use until after your handyman (husband) has hung it. It would be difficult to look my husband in the eye and ask him to take it back down; you’ve changed your mind.
