A Fun Fall Mantle in Under 10 Minutes

I just adore decorating for the seasons. But right now with three college classes, design work and running a household for my family most of the decorating I do must fall under the “swifty and thrifty” categories. My mantle (err fantle~faux mantle) within our entertainment center was no exception.

The biggest challenge is that the space above the television is so dark. It is like a black hole. To lighten things up I cut out some fall leaves from old atlas paper on the Silhouette and quickly tacked them up to the back.

I rounded up a pot of wheat I had purchased last year at an after season sale at HomeGoods. (I did whitewash the terra cotta pot.)  A simple white plate was dressed up with a maple leaf and the vignette was rounded out with white berries and a pumpkin.

I also grabbed every small white pedestal I owned and plopped a few more pumpkins down.

The good news is that this happy harvest scene will carry us until Christmas.

Love this! It looks so classy and elegant. I am seeing a lot of white autumn decorations this fall. I wonder what I have I can do a little transformation work on...
Thanks for the inspiration! :)

Perfect, Laura! I'm going simple this year myself and just plopped a couple of white pumpkins on my pillar candle holders on my mantle. A few faux leaves and I called it done.

Yes, I'm a great fan of quick creativity! :)

I have the white and black fall decor on my table and the traditional pumpkin/browns on my hutch. I'm happy with the way the displays turned out - I'll be adding my Halloween items to the harvest items soon, and then removing those and returning to just the harvest items until Thanksgiving weekend. It's all coming up so quickly.

Simply charming, and it's perfect for the space---just beautifully put together.

Reminds me to go in search of another white pumpkin this year (I even found a luscious PINK one last year, all smooth-skinned and shining), and the whites are just so elegant in a graceful pale compote.

How very lovely---thank you for sharing such a sweet vignette.

Your "fantle" looks great, Laura! I love the pot of wheat (I'm pretty sure I've admired that same thing at our Home Goods). Love your white pumpkins; it will soon be time for us to visit our local pumpkin farm.

Laura,
Your autumn vignette is one of the prettiest that I've seen. I especially like your 'leaves'. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
