Day 3 of the Dr. Oz Cleanse and Something Fun for the Weekend

So, I finished the cleanse. I lost a total of 6 pounds, but again I think it was mainly water weight. I was talking to my daughter about the fact that overall there didn’t appear to be much “cleansing” going on.

Her reply:

“Mom, your idea of {fast food} is going to Subway and getting a 6 inch whole wheat turkey sandwich loaded up with veggies and no condiments. So it’s not like you have a lot to cleanse in the first place.”

It made me laugh because she knows me so well.

Overall I didn’t starve and I could see myself doing a 1 day cleanse every now and again. I will definitely be incorporating a juice/veggie drink into my daily regime a few times a week. Probably breakfast.

It was interesting to me that I didn’t crave junk food but things like chicken and cheddar cheese. I guess I would never make a good vegan.

I was amazed by the tremendous response I received. I am trying to respond to each and every comment, question and email. Most of you want a follow up. Well guess what? I had already decided to make a lifestyle change and I am happy to include you on this journey. You can help keep me honest!

So this summer every Friday will be “Fit Friday”. It will cover yummy, healthy and low cost meals, enjoyable exercise, and treats that make you feel good about yourself!

In between the cleanse I have been working on a few projects and painting the exterior of my home. Mr. Décor and my father in law sure can work a roller! So I promise, more décor is coming soon!!!

I’ve also been prettying up some antiques to prepare for:

Remnants of the Past

As you read this I am in San Luis Obispo with the Fashionista and Andrea. We are working ‘round the clock getting Rêve put to bed. Later on we’ll be setting up our French Flavored booth.

I’ve been contemplating just how I can manage to shop while I sell…..

Oh yeah. It’s gonna be good and I packed my camera.

Congrats to you for finishing the cleanse. I tried a different cleanse a few years ago, and lost about the same as you--6 pounds. I am not grossly overweight, but last year made a real change & am now down 17 pounds--pretty effortlessly!
It will be fun to follow your journey on Fridays!

Laura, you're in my county! I would love to come to the show and actually meet you in person! However, sadly, I cannot. I'm bummed.

Wow - good for you! I really need to try a cleansing diet. I always like to think that I could become a vegetarian someday but there are certain things I crave that I will not give up! Thanks for keeping us all motivated!

You have my deepest admiration on many accounts. My wait line has expanded and I don't appear to have the where-with-all to reduce it. I wish I were over there with you and Andrea beavering away on Reve and shopping at the wonderful fair. Bonne chance with your sales and purchases.

After I read your post on the Dr. Oz’s 3 day cleanse, I decided to give it a try since all my waistbands are to tight like yours were. I have one word for it - WOW! I lost 6 pounds! But more important, I feel so much better and slept great.
I got all my ingredients at Trader Joe's, most of the fruits I purchased were frozen bringing down the cost, I spent @ $50. I already had the vitamins, they were out of almond butter so I used almond milk in the breakfast drink and used a lavender eye pad in the bath. I did a few tweeks besides the breakfast drink and still had great results. Some of my other tweeks were: I left the cayenne pepper out of the dinner drink and added more water to each of the drinks so my blender would blend them up. After day 2 I added 1 tablespoon of honey to the drinks for taste factor. The celery/cucumber drink is my favorite! The hardest part for me was giving up coffee, the drinks kept me full so I didn't go hungry at all. I am going to do this clense once a week for a couple of weeks so I can look good in my bathing suit for our Mexico vacation!
