A Simply Sweet Gift for Under $5.00

This sweet pot of roses is perfect for mom’s, teachers, or even happy new homeowners.

Van gogh 171

Design clients that I previously worked with several years ago moved into a new home and called me again to help with the décor. I didn’t want to arrive empty handed and was pressed for time so I grabbed a sweet smelling pot of miniature roses for $4.99 at the supermarket.

First things first. Remove the orange plastic wrapping.

You can use the orange plastic as a template to cut a square of burlap or other darling fabric. I used twine to tie it up.

I jazzed up a plain manila tag with a punch paper heart, paper doily, Home Sweet Home printable and a miniature pom pom made quickly with red bakers twine.

Just wrap a fork several times with twine. Take a second short piece of twine and thread it through the center tine of the fork and tie a tight knot. Cut the loops and fluff your pom.

A happy bit of homemade!

What are you crafting today?

Potted plants are a great quick gift! I use them for teacher gifts sometimes. I think they're something people like but sometimes won't buy for themselves so they're really appreciated!

Thanks for stopping over. I love Parenthood too! Friday Night Lights is by the same guy (Jason Katims) so I think you'll really like it! There's even some crossover in the casts!

How wonderful to have your clients call on your talents again to help them with their new home. You obviously did a great job on their last home. A very talented designer!

Love your cute idea for presenting a potted plant. The jute against the dainty little roses is adorable and the scrappy side of me is loving your tag! It accents the plant so well!

Hope things are a little calmer for you and you have time to stop and smell the roses. Cheers! :)

I want to make a little pom. That's cute!

I realized when I started reading this that it's May... and I don't even have a graduation gift to buy this year let alone a teacher gift. It makes me feel kinda old and odd.

Of course, everything makes me feel old and odd these days so what's new?
