When Life Feels Like a Snow Globe
She turned the page of the calendar...
Once upon a time this month had brought her anticipation and great joy. Now she just wished she could skip to January and leave this month, this year, behind her.
A year in which her life had felt like a snow globe, badly shaken.
Some days where she wondered if there was a slow leak and others when she felt completely shattered.
Sometimes it felt as if the path before her was quite unclear.
While other days felt like an unsolvable maze.
Prayers asked were answered in ways she didn’t understand.
There were moments when she called out “Why have You forsaken me?”
But life continued on, the road rough.
There began to be days that little flickers of light began to appear.
Some days it seemed impossible to see the glow, but it was there.
Small glimmers of the promise* to cling to.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” ~ Deuteronomy 31:6
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” ~ Psalm 46:1
“Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.” ~ 1 Peter 5:7
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” ~ John 14:27
