Day 5 ~ What Does Cozy Mean To You?

All this week I have been posting about cozy cabins, welcoming front porches and fun fall crafts.

I just can’t seem to get enough of warm, inviting spaces. I seem to be drawn to the cozy.

Cozy living room

There’s nothing better than plaids, pillows, fall colors, and a fireplace to convey cozy.

Sunday afternoons spent relaxing in happy spaces.

A cozy reading spot

Enjoying a good book cuddled up on in a snuggly chair.

Cooking up an apple pie here …

…and eating huge slices in this dining area.

Afterwards it will be time for a nap here.

My kids began their annual fall break from school yesterday. As you can imagine for the next week my blog visiting time will be severely limited. I thank you for your understanding.

What says “cozy” to you?

I just love cozy spaces. I have a couple of those cozy spots in our home. One is my chair in our Master bedroom. There is a lot of natural light and I can see the big oaks out the windows.
Also my sunroom is one of my favorite spots. I love to sit on the love seat and do my blogging.
This fall as the weather gets cooler, sitting in our family room with fireplace going will be my favorite spot.

A deep couch, a good book, something hot to drink, and those I love happily nearby(and possibly quiet?). Oh, and less than 60 degrees outside! lol.
Enjoy your fall break.
Hugs~

I'm the same way, Laura! One of the things I look forward to once the weather gets cold enough is having the fireplace going. I love to sit and read magazines or a book while the fire is going, maybe have some hot chocolate and a little snack, while I have a comfy throw covering my legs.

Laura,
Cozy is a comfortable deep chair, a good book, a glass of wine or cup of french pressed coffee, a cashmere blanket, a dog at my feet and a Siamese cat along each side.
Enjoy the time with your daughter and son.

Autumn is the "coziest" time of the year for me! I love nothing more than curling up with a blanket, a cup of tea and a good book and enjoying the crisp air outside.

Enjoy your fall break time with your children. We don't have a fall break here; it would be so nice.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Cozy to me is something that is hard to put into words, but when I've achieved it, I know it. It's a space that is warm, welcoming, serene. A space that feels like a big hug!

Beautiful! I love fireplaces - in fact, I am pretty sure they are the ultimate cozy :-). Of course, I don't have one, but someday...

Home! I'm never cozy in other spaces that aren't my home. Comfortable yes, but cozy demands friendly intimacy, familiarity, ownership...
All posted for you asks for comfort. When I reach the closet for the sofa throws that are stored since Spring arrived I instantly feel cozy.
That's probably why I love Autumn so much. It invites you to reach inside - your home, yourself - and find that safe feeling... again.
Happy and Cozy Weekend, Dear Friend!

You've reminded me to order a cord of wood for my woodstove. When I curl up beside it, I'm in danger of never stirring! ~ Maureen

Beautiful samples.

Cozy for me is a fire, soft comfy chair, the scent of apples n spice, fall leaves being burned, a basket of pinecones I picked up in the woods, an old worn quilt to wrap up in. my loved ones home and safe and somewhere within eye sight.

I love every one of those shots. The very first two are my favorites.

And please, please do enjoy fall break with your kids. I happen to have some daughters coming home next week too.

Cozy to me is a warm bed with cold air from the open window blowing across my face, a fire in the fireplace on a rainy damp day, a cup of steaming tea and bit of apple cake/pie, and a pile of books or magazines to read.
Love your cozy shots. Enjoy the weekend with your family.

Laura, have a wonderful time on your fall break. Should the temps fall, then I will feel cozy as I know you will too. I love seeing your ideas and think your entryway makeover was great! Ann

Thanks for visiting my little blog, Laura.

I love your topic and look forward to reading about all the styles you'll be writing about.

The cabin post had lovely images ... the built in beds, the Pendleton blankets as curtains. So cozy!

I love cozy too, and am finally ready for it after waiting much longer than the rest of the country for Summer to arrive here in the PNW. :) But after 2-1/2 months without rain, I'm ready for cozy fires and snuggly throws!

Thanks for stopping by my blog - I'm signing up to follow your 31 days series, too! Lots of sweet ideas to glean...
