Day 22 ~ Savoring The Season

Wow! You guys FILLED UP my email inbox yesterday when I proclaimed I will be savoring just this season of Autumn.

So many of you wrote such heartfelt and dear emails that I want to respond to each and every one of them.

As always it is a battle of time. (Deep breath~ remember to savor each moment!)

Today Sweet Boy has an early release day and I still need to put the finishing touches on tomorrow’s post and continue my research for a post on French Furniture and another on Mid Century modern. So I think this may be the shortest post to date in my “31 Days” series. But it’s a post right? :)

Also, a few of you wanted to proclaim on your blogs that you too are savoring just THIS season. My wish is your command.

Treasure THIS day!

Got to love the puppies in the leaves!
One thing that bothers me about blogging is that everyone seems to put up their seasonal decor before I do. I was still celebrating summer, and everyone had their homes decked out for autumn.

Although I don't aways comment, I have enjoyed this series.

At this time in my life "Savoring this Season" is even more important. Today's post is very beautiful. Your animal photographs really cheer me up!

Il est vrai qu'en cette saison nos amis les toutous adorent jouer et courir dans les feuilles mortes...
De sublimes photos.
Gros bisous

When I read your post yesterday, Laura, I felt like I could have wrote it. I totally enjoy each season. Yes, I am thinking ahead to how I will decorate for Christmas or picking up little things here and there for gifts, but it is Fall and that's what I'm enjoying right now.

Christmas will go up starting Black Friday {since I generally don't go out that day}. I also keep my Christmas up until January 6th. I'll be 49 the end of this month and I don't need to be rushing time along. It moves along just fine on its own!

Yes, I too loved your post yesterday, and today's too, of course! Seize the moment - enjoy each day - what a wonderful thought! It's really hard to start rushing into Christmas when we're just getting into Fall now, but the stores (& some blogs) are already knee-deep in Christmas. I,too, like to keep everything up until at least Epiphany, maybe longer. When we lived in Montana, we'd all keep our Christmas door wreaths up until Valentine's Day :)
Thank you so much, Laura, for your wonderful blog!

Another beautiful post today. As for yesterday's post, preach it girl! Thanks for keeping it real. It is so easy to get caught up in the unspoken competition of the blogging world.I, too, am enjoying the seasons as they come. I agree with another commenter who said time moves fast enough on its own!

My sweet (exhausted) Laura,
It was a post with the exact sentiment that drew us together in 2009. http://www.fairfieldhousenj.com/2009/12/27/christmas-present/
I have cut back on my blog reading for exactly that reason. In an attempt to be in the here and now, live fully in each blessed moment, I don't need to read about and start thinking about my Christmas mantle. I wish we were closer -- we could take Scout, Franz and Rudi out and kick up some leaves; enjoy a cup of pumpkin spice java ... bits of autumn bliss.
Love,
Deborah

I wanted to comment so badly but they were closed. I couldn't find an email, so I had to wait til today! I agree 1000% with what you wrote, and yes, blogging brings out the best and sometimes the worst, in some of us. I think it is just silly to decorate in November with a tree in every room, only to dismantle everything on Dec. 26th. I am enjoying fall for all its worth, which is quite a bit! xo

Lovely photos and I totally agree with your sentiments from Sunday's post. I love fall and do not want it to end!

I had missed the previous post but went back to read. I just want to give you a big old AMEN and an autumn hug! The decoration rush is the one thing that I do NOT like about blog land.

I, too, am savoring just this season.
