Day 18 ~ The Well Designed Scrapbook

If you are a fan of interior designer Charlotte Moss you have, no doubt, heard that her latest book “A Visual Life” will soon be released on October 30, 2012.

Ms. Moss has truly inspired me with the lovely, traditional interiors she has designed, particularly her own homes.

Her previous design books are all collector worthy. I have learned something valuable about life and design from each and every title.

Ms. Moss has said that her latest book is her most personal. This is understandable. Sneak peeks of the pages reveal her passions,  whimsical thoughts, and inspirations. It is as if her heart and soul have been pressed onto the pages.

I too am a creator of paper and fabric collages.  Small bits of bliss that have been accumulated and treasured over the course of time. There is the small swatch of beautifully faded silk that once was part of a lovely ball gown, a postcard of a painting that inspired me, meaningful words…all collected and waiting….

Until one rainy day when the bits are collected, grouped by color, theme or mere fancy and applied to old books, notepaper, sheet music… whatever suits my mood.

Tomorrow I will share the latest collage book I created and continue to eagerly await Ms. Moss’ new book.

I am so enjoying your posts. I love the inspiration I get from what your writing and the pics you post. I am crafty creative but have no clue when it comes to decorating my home. It's a mismatched hodge podge of things but it's home. Keep up the good work.

Can't wait to see it Laura! i don't have the patience for scrapbooks or idea books, I do cut out nice stuff from magazines and catalogues and just place them in a binder - no art, no words, just pics. That's why I'm excited to see yours! :-)

Ohh... love all this inspiration! I wanted to mention about your other post... you are so right! "It is when we realize that we can’t do it without God we experience the real victory." That is the victory. He is our strength. Beautifully said, Laura!
