Ummm. I hate to have to point this out, but:
Rosaries (and medals) are not jewelry, nor are they decoration.
They are sacramentals, objects intended to aid in prayer, signposts on the way to God in a way. Typically, they've been blessed.
Just because some unfeeling or ignorant person has thrown them away or sold them at a flea market doesn't lessen their spiritual value. Just because some people do wear them as jewelry doesn't make it okay.
The best analogy I can make is to ask "Would you take a crucifix from an Anglican, Presbyterian, Baptist church and use it as a lawn ornament, or re-make used vestments into curtains?" (I certainly hope not!)
When I find a used rosary, I dismantle it, clean it, re-make it and either donate or gift it to someone. I suggest you do the same.
