A Table Fit for a King

It would seem that the majority of you enjoy watching videos as long as they are entertaining and teach you something. So, other than wondering whose voice that was on yesterday’s video (smile) I will continue with video postings from time to time. I am committed to doing just one take and hoping for the best. This video is a bit shaky as I was nervous but hopefully I will get better.

Ok, I can take it. Was this interesting~ perhaps a bit boring~ too long~ or maybe even a beautiful mess?
Let the feedback fly.

I love the video posts!! It is fun to put a "voice" with a face. 3 to 5 minutes seems like a good time frame to me. And if you don't catch everything the first time, you can go back and look at the video again. I loved your table!! I like crocheted doilies too. Love & blessings from NC!

I loved your description of how you created your beautiful tablescape and thought your video enhanced my appreciation of your talented work. I look forward to more videos on your tablescapes. Thank you for sharing and I love the house shoes.

Hi Laura,
You're a natural as an "on air" personality, and your warmth and sense of humor really shine through in this format. Thanks for sharing so many great creative ideas. Your sideboard is a standout among all the beautiful things you showed us. I thought your video was a perfect length; it seemed unhurried, but really held my interest. Nicely done!!

Laura.. oh my word.. Pickles (aka hubs) came out from dressing for this day and asked:

"Did you make another video?" I guess our mannerisms and voice sound just a like. But after watching it again.. I noted that we do have the same tastes. My wee mercury glasses were from a speciality shop that I just had to have this year and the spode china has been handed down with loving care. I love using fresh herbs to make arrangments with.

to me, I was fine with the time and the information that was provided and you had some great tips there. Easy and natural in presentation.. but then again, if Hubs says we sounded alike in both voice and techniques that's why I loved it.

with love,

I learned some thing today! I didn't know the story of the 3 Kings and their significance on this day.
I only watched about a minute and1/2....I get too scootcy!
I like the blog videos though!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving the sweet comment. I enjoyed the video very much. Love the table, especially the kings centerpiece. Sure wish I still lived in Phoenix, better than the bitter cold we are facing this month!

What a fun way to share your tablescape! And what a beautiful table! You have fantastic "greens" in your part of the country. Lovely centerpiece.

I enjoyed the video. Perfect pace -- you didn't rush through making the viewer dizzy, nor did you go on and on, repeating yourself. I felt as though I was standing alongside you as you gave a guided tour.

Your table setting is beautiful - I especially like the runner you used - and the sideboard is stunning.

I luvd this!
Dear Laura, it was treat to me to hear your sweet voice as you shared your Tablescape. Liked the silver tray, etc. on your sideboard.

Very much liked the idea of using figurines of the 3 Wise Men as the centerpiece. What a sweet blessing to hear the name of Jesus in a Tablescape. Very gentle presentation!

Appreciate your kind comment on my blog. Thank you so much. Very kind of you.

We are having the snow and mercy, mercy...there's so much of it and more coming. Tis winter for sure.

God bless you!

I really enjoyed your video, Laura. Your voice sounds so sweet. And I love the tablescape, the red transferware dishes are very pretty. I have the same 3 Kings from Southern Living at Home. Aren't they just perfect? They look like antique Santos to me. I also like your vignette on your buffet table...Christine

Hi Laura,
Thanks for dropping by today and for your sweet comments. Really enjoyed your video presentation.
I never knew about Ephiphany day.
Certainly know about Jesus and the wise men, and even did an after Christmas post on the wise men's visit, but didn't know there was
a special day to celebrate that and it was kind of the ending to the Christmas Season. How neat!!
I may have to do that next year
myself, another reason to Celebrate Jesus during His season,
works for me!
Have a lovely day, and thanks for sharing. Very nice and cute!
Blessings, Nellie

Hi Laura!

I really enjoyed your vlog!! It is so much fun to see and hear.

Your three kings are just wonderful!

I was so glad that I purchased the mercury votive holders as soon as I saw them come out a Target. I knew they were going to go fast, and they did. They are so pretty. I loved the idea of creating a table runner out of doilies. I might just have to "borrow" that idea!

Have a wonderful day!

Hey, Laura!! I loved this video, too. Loved your shoes, all the information, and I thought the video was the perfect length. You have an easy, natural style & your personality and sense of humor really shine through. I'm waiting for some 30 minute segments on HGTV!! :)
love & hugs,

You are a natural. Ok, honestly, a little too long for me or a little too much info. But I did watch it all. Could maybe be split into 2 posts--one on table, one on sideboard.

Love the 3 kings idea, I so love the entire lesson that can be taught at Christmas time, I may do the 3 kings thing next year!!!

I looooved this video, I hung on your every word. You sounded poised and confident even though you said you were nervous. Your tablescape was wonderful. (I could go on and on, but won't...) I loved that you also told us what was on the menu.
I especially love that you taught all of us something about Jesus' birth, and the significance of the Three Kings/Epiphany. We also recognize Epiphany at our house. (I can hardly say celebrate as our meal is much like any other day, but we do have a (modest) cake as it is exactly 5 days between 2 birthdays in our house (1/1 and 1/11). It is mainly the day we take down the tree and put away the decorations.
