Peep Show~ The Finale!

When I was a little girl I remember my Grandma Mary making sure I had a new spring dress and shoes. Everything had to be fresh and pretty Easter Sunday. I miss the days of ladies in their hats, gloves and corsages.

But corsages don't have to languish in dresser drawers. They look so pretty when pinned to a pillow.
Tie a corsage onto the back of a chair. While I tied on this one I had an epiphany of creating an entire door wreath of corsages. How pretty would that be?
Sing with me.... "In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it....." I wear a hat to church every Easter. Sadly, I am often the only adult female to do so. But, I am going to tell you a secret. The men love it. I always get so many compliments and hear over and over "I wish my wife would wear a hat." Ladies, get yourselves to a chapeau shoppe!
When I lived in the South there was a brand of ice cream called Blue Bunny. I think this corsage is just as sweet and easier on the waistline.
Here's a corsage to celebrate the Savior's birth.
Star of the Peep Show.

One preppy chick~!

This corsage features a vintage egg and peep I restored from the stash I found here.

Another vintage egg on yummy gossamer ribbon.

I hope you have enjoyed the Peep Show Series. All of the corsages can be found in my Etsy shoppe.
Please stop back by and enter this week's Friday Freebie.

Your corsages are so lovely and you triggered me with this post. Those were the days when you could finally wear your new clothes with Easter! And yes my mother used to wear gloves and a matching purse too. We have a saying: dressed Easter best, I am sure you understand what this means! I love hats too, there is only one disadvantage, it ruins my hairdo, so once wearing a hat, I cannot take it off again.

Have a nice day!

Beautiful corsages! My mother and grandmother used to wear hats every Sunday to church too. I am the 4th of 8 children, 7 girls and then my little brother was the youngest. My grandmother would make each of us girls a new dress for Easter every year, and then my mother would get us tights, hats, gloves and purses to match our dresses. My dad would get each of "his girls" (that was Mom, Gram and 7 daughters) a corsage to wear too! What a picture our family was on Easter Sunday!

Very cute! My daughter just said that she is so excited about Easter, it is her favorite day of the year. I can understand why - it is the most important day in the life of the church, and for kids it has all of the additional excitement of the great spring things that come with Easter!

What pretty creations Laura. Reminds me of days with my grandma when she would sew a new Easter dress for me. You have such unique ideas - I really enjoyed your photos today.

I had a dream that your blog was featured on 3 T.V. last night. :) A little random, I know. [shrug]

Love these little bows. So cute.

I remember as a child always have a new Spring coat and hat for Easter. I even remember wearing little white gloves!

The corsages came out really pretty--what a neat idea to pin them to a pillow. Attached to a curtain or headboard of a little girl's bed would be sweet, too!

Very cute.
I like hats. I don't have an Easter one yet, but I'm going to try to find one this year. And yes, my hubby loves it when I wear hats.

*hugs*

Your corsages are lovely! I love to see ladies with a hat and a corsage on Easter Sunday. You really don't see too many hats these days.

Laura,

Your corsages are precious. I love the idea of attaching one to a pillow~there really are a multitude of things to do with them!

My mom dressed all six of us girls in our new Easter dresses, coats and hats and we had the picture~ taking ceremony on the front lawn. You couldn't tell, but we were shivering (still very cold here on Easter!).

What a lovely post! I'm so glad I happened over here. Yes, I too remember Easters with new outfits and spring coats - do children still get spring coats? I loved my Easter bonnet and spanking clean white gloves. it also wouldn't be Easter without a bunny corsage that my mother would make consisting of a carnation, pipe cleaners for ears, hat pins dipped in nail polish for eyes, and a big fluffy ribbon bow!

Yes, I think it is sad not to see hats at church anymore. I try to find them but I have a pretty large noggin, very frustrating. I console myself by saying it holds a lot of brain power in.

Thanks for a walk down memory lane and some lovely photos of the corsages.

Shopping for a new Easter dress was always a highlight of the spring season! Easter Sunday at church...girls in their hats or bonnets, gloves, lace trimmed socks and white paten leather shoes...and the ladies in their orchid corsages...wonderful memories! Your creations are so sweet I can just see my Grandma and her friends making and exchanging these! So sweet and fun! Thanks for sharing!

Laura ~ Your corsages are so pretty, and the hats, I think the last time I wore an Easter Hat was20 years ago. Oh dear, that makes me sound so old. I have a picture of it, I was 22 years old and hubby and I were going to Easter Services with our new baby boy.

Do you remember the little white lgoves that the ladies used to wear to church? When I was a little girl Easter was always a new frock, little white gloves, a new little purse, and white patent mary janes. [sigh]
